How it all works

At Bellwether, Banking with Heart means showing up for one another and strengthening the communities we call home. 

You will receive $50 with each friend you refer, up to a maximum of $250. Each new member you refer will also receive $50. With every successful referral, we’ll also donate $50 to a local charity, spreading even more good throughout our community.

New and referring members must be 18 or older to participate. Maximum of five referrals per member.

*Promotion can be discontinued at any time. Referrer must be a current Bellwether member and a primary or joint account holder for at least 3 months before referring. To receive the bonus, Referred must: 1.) Become a Bellwether member; 2.) Open a checking account with a debit card; 3.) Minimum of $500 in qualifying direct deposits in first 90 days; 4.) Cannot be a joint, current, or past member. Referrers may earn up to $250 in bonuses per calendar year, based on a maximum of five (5) valid referrals. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments (such as Zelle®), transfer from a cash management account (such as Fidelity) or bank to bank transfer are not considered a direct deposit. Micro-deposits do not qualify as a direct deposit for the bonus. Micro-deposits are small deposits, typically less than $10, that are sent to your account to verify it is the correct account. Referrer and Charity will receive $50 after Referee becomes member completes requirements and remains a member for at least 90 days. To receive this bonus, the enrolled account must not be closed or restricted at the time of payout. For each eligible referral, Bellwether Community Credit Union will donate $50 to the selected New Hampshire nonprofits. Donations are made by Bellwether Community Credit Union and are not tax-deductible by members. Closing the account early may trigger bonus reversal. Eligibility may be limited based on account ownership. Bonus is considered dividends and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT (or Form 1042-S, if applicable). Federally insured by NCUA.
