Recently, members of our team had the honor of visiting Pelham High School to recognize Riley Long as the very first recipient of Bellwether's Heart of the Community Scholarship.

Riley's hard work, dedication, and commitment to academic success make her an outstanding representative of the next generation of leaders in our community. Watching her receive this recognition surrounded by teachers and classmates made it clear: investing in students like Riley is one of the most meaningful things we can do.

A clear plan, and the confidence to see it through

What struck us most about Riley is that she doesn't just have ambition, she has a plan. After completing her prerequisites at Middlesex Community College, she will apply to their highly regarded diagnostic sonography program, a rigorous two-year course of study that runs year-round and includes real hospital internships alongside her classes.

And she's not stopping there. After graduating and securing a stable position, Riley is open to specializing in a particular area of sonography, always keeping her long-term purpose in view: helping people through healthcare. That kind of intentionality is rare and remarkable.

Why this scholarship matters

Supporting education is one of the many ways Bellwether gives back to the communities we serve. Through our Heart of the Community initiative, we're proud to invest in students who are working toward bright futures and making a positive impact both inside and outside the classroom.

Riley exemplifies exactly the spirit this scholarship was created to celebrate, not just academic achievement, but character, clarity of purpose, and a genuine desire to contribute to something larger than herself. She is the kind of person communities are built around.

We wish Riley every success in all that lies ahead, in her studies, her internships, her career, and in every life she'll touch as a healthcare professional. We'll be cheering you on.
