The Important Facts
Who Can Join?
If you live or work in NH or have a family member who already belongs, you qualify for membership at Bellwether Community Credit Union. Good news right? And once you're a member you also have access to our great line of Business products and services.
But What Is a Credit Union?
At it’s most basic, a credit union is a financial institution established to serve a group of people joined together by a common bond. Bellwether got its start over 90 years ago by a few employees of Bell Telephone. At the time, the employer was their common bond, but since that June day in 1921 Bellwether has come a long way.
As a not-for-profit credit union, Bellwether Community Credit Union belongs to its members—not some distant group of stockholders. We strive every day to provide our members with the highest value in all that we do. Any profits made are given back to our members in the form of better rates, lower fees, and more services. Our Board of Directors is made up of volunteers who oversee the direction of the credit union and make certain that we continue to grow and develop in a way that serves our members best and remains true to our mission.
At the same time, we are a part of your community. In that respect, Bellwether joins with credit unions across the country, who reach out to support the communities in which our members live and work.
These days it is becoming harder and harder to find a truly local financial institution. BCCU has been prospering in your community—our community—for over 90 years. The members of our staff and board are your neighbors. We’re here for you, providing personal service and solutions to meet your needs. Whether in our branches, over the phone, or through our website, our staff is focused on you. Just let us know, “How can we help you today?”
